Well, despite our best efforts we did not manage to convince Evil and V to abandon plans to cycle across France and stay for the rest of the festival. Maybe it had something to do the constant rain.
Welcome to Scotland, we invented rain you know!

Becstarr : Marrickville rain biking
Biked to the Sustainability festival in Steel Park, Marrickville (just on the Cooks River) twice... once on Saturday, a day early (oops) and then for real on Sunday. Plenty of manageable hills, so I guess it was good exercise at least!
The festival was small (clearly in its first few years), which suited me fine. No chai tent (wha?) but there was an indigenous food stand with kangaroo & croc burgers. Plenty of families and various freebies and workshops. Unfortunately the rain then hit and our attempt to bike home between showers was a wetter venture than I was hoping for. Urgh!

Long weekend drenching
Long weekend. Weather report said "showers for fri-sat, fine on monday". Okay. Try to miss the traffic by leaving on Sunday. Head to Kanangra-Boyd National park, out the back of the Blue Mountains.
Walk out to Cottage Boulder, or at least to coal-seam cave (Easy 9km return). Wait awhile in the cave because its raining. It appears to let up, so start heading back to the car.
I got drenched. I was wearing goretex on top, and then jeans underneath. My jeans got soaked, and then the water started creeping upwards underneath the goretex on my t-shirt. The rain was torrential. Walking across Kanangra plateau with the thunder and lighting going on directly overhead thinking very very short thoughts!

Not much happening..
Bored at work, suffering prospective Cabin Fever for the weekend. I know we need the rain, but I'm sick of being indoors!

YL - rain, blood and babies
Today started out poorly with me venturing out into the sudden outpouring of rain with no umbrella. Realising I had no mobile phone (which I needed in case my real estate agent called me), I got off the bus at Fisher Library and proceeded to get even more wet while trying to get back home.
Needless to say, no action on the apt sale front that I know of. Sigh. Auction is on Sat though.
After feeling out of place on the labour ward, we did end up delivering 2 babies by caesarean between 4-10pm. That was kind of sweet in a sad broken way. In those few moments, women who had loving partners and who were having babies. Captured moment of bliss. Sure there may be many other problems beyond that moment. But I suddenly felt like it was a moment I'd never experience - loving partners & having babies. Deeper sigh. Now that makes me cry.

Yen Li - still no rain.
Never have I been so keen for rain to test the leaking windows. I've decided to sell the apt, organised agent & am moving. These medical text books are damned heavy. As soon as the window is rather fixed, I get to move on with my life. It looks like my family might break even on the sale of this apt. This would be a good thing.

Yen Li - it's raining. Yes!
Ok strange things are happening with my phone. I got Anna's text msg at 2am but without any fanfare. Judging from the content, it could only have been sent HOURS ago. Stupid telephone.
But! Good news. It is raining. Nay pouring and I am on standby in case the window does leak right at the bottom bit next to the carpet. I've already had multiple episodes 6mx3m of wet soggy carpet requiring effort/stress/upset since last Sept. Hopefully the hole in the wall was worth making to fix the leak. Well IF it is indeed fixed. Time shall tell. Rain, Rain my pretty!
