Got my first job rejection today—it's a step up from sending out heaps of CVs and never ever getting any reply.
Grr London job culture… "If you have not heard anything by the 21st of December then you have been unsuccessful on this occasion."

FD, are you following up your applications with the recruitment people?
You should also call the company that sent you the letter to try and find out what they did not like.

Tancred: I'm applying directly to companies, have recruiters calling me and suggesting jobs, and am looking for a decent agency. The rejection was quick and to the point: not enough linux sysadmin experience.

not to worry, a recruiter called me yesterday and seperately I have an interview on Tuesday!
