Evelyn - GoodReads

Think I'm catching Tancred's cold, so spent the weekend at home on the web - started a bookshelf at GoodReads in an attempt to read more (and spend less time pfaffing around on the web).

oh found their about us page:
Most book recommendation websites work by listing random people’s reviews. On Goodreads, when a person adds a book to the site, all their friends can see what they thought of it. It’s common sense. People are more likely to get excited about a book their friend recommends than a suggestion from a stranger.

what I get all my best media recommended to me by random strangers on the internet (with whom I share many common tastes)

speaking of which, I hear that Move Under Ground is good, it is a Cthulhu story written in the Beat style/On the Road with deep ones
