Happy Haggis Day

Yesterday was Burns Day - Robbie Burns. And to celebrate my work had a Burns night featuring such highlights as the Selkirk Grace, Piping in the Haggis, The Address to the Haggis, eating of the Haggis, a recitation of a Man's a man for aw that, The Toast to the Lassies, The reply to the toast to the Lassies and much alcohol.

So did you partake of the festive dish otherwise known as Haggis? Or did you chicken out?

Well, I sat there looking at it suspiciously for a while then realised that my two co-workers were giving each other a running commentary of how close I was to eating it. So Yes, in a way I chickened out by eating it.

Strangely mushy and all the spicy flavour is really noticed as an aftertaste. But the cranachan was very tasty.

Ewwwwww.... I mean, "You go girl!" I seriously hope that on the off chance I ever get back to Edinburgh that I manage to avoid the twin pitfalls of Haggis and Deep Fried Mars Bars.

Well you know T's rule on visitors trying that local fried delicacies. Maybe you can make up for it by consuming all the whiskey varieties available at the Bow Bar?
