Dan: MovieFest

Inspired by Eugene's last post, I went and saw Brain Dead at the Dendy Horror Festival. It was all that they promised and more. It was also not the Brain Dead you're thinking of, but a different one. Followed it up with Be Kind Rewind, and 10,000 BC. The Verdict: See Brain Dead if you like Schlock Horror. See Be Kind Rewind. Don't see 10,000 BC if you've ever read anything tangentially about ancient history or palaeontology or have a passing interest in either. Otherwise, it's a fun ride.

dan the important question to ask about 10,000BC is: do they ride sweet dinosaurs?!?

Nah. That'd be just that little bit to gleefully and deliberately wrong. The way they work is to make it look like it's possibly realistic if you don't know much about things like !!!SPOILER AHEAD!!! when the pyramids were built or various large mammals and birds live or died out.

I believe this to be a from a few peoples responses valid.

Also, while not getting fantastic reviews, I'm seriously considering going and seeing "The Ruins" since after reading a general synopsis and not paying attention to the trailers actually sounds pretty cool and slightly Cthulhuesque.

Also, Firefox speller tried to get me to say "Statuesque".
